Welcoming Eric, another new Advocacy Worker in Rochdale!
Why Early Break?
“Hello, I’m Eric, an Advocacy Worker in Rochdale.
Before joining Early Break I volunteered as a youth worker in Oldham for over 5 years. In 2013 I moved to Australia for 2 years before returning to the UK to complete a Masters Degree in Social Work. During my degree I worked in an adult substance misuse service and in Child Protection. Working for Early Break is my first job since qualifying as a Social Worker in December 2018.
When I’m not at work I try to see as much of the world as I can and have travelled across Japan by train, Jordan by car and spent 3 weeks living in a camper van in New Zealand. Most of my hobbies revolve around music; I spend a lot of my time going to gigs and festivals, having been to Glastonbury twice. In the past I played trombone for 8 years and played drums in a band. I am currently teaching myself how to play the guitar and piano.
I am excited about my role as a Youth Advocacy Worker, as working with young people is something that I have always loved doing. I’m looking forward to working at Early Break as everyone here is passionate about what they do and have a lot of experience and knowledge to share.”
