Drug and Alcohol Professional
Early Break are pleased to offer half day professional development training courses in Bury, Bolton, Rochdale, Salford and Trafford for anyone seeking to further expand their knowledge around drugs and alcohol and how to refer to services.
Half day courses are £50 per person (No VAT) and are professionally written and continually reviewed to include the latest emerging trends in the field of substance misuse and are mapped to DANOS – Drug and Alcohol National Occupational Standards. The courses are delivered by an experienced trainer and substance misuse practitioner and are fully CPD accredited. A CPD certificate will be issued on completion of the course.

Know the definition of the term drug
Be able to identify what different drugs look like
Have an understanding about different drug categories
Have an awareness of the effects that drugs and alcohol can have on physical and mental health
Be aware of risk and protective factors to keep people safe from substances
Increased confidence to refer to relevant services
DANOS Units Covered
AA1 Recognise indications of substance misuse and refer individuals to specialists
AA2 Relate to and interact with individuals
AA3 Support individuals to access and use services and facilities
AA6 Promote choice, wellbeing and the protection of individuals
AD1 Raise awareness about substances, their use and effects
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, dates for training are on an ad-hoc, bespoke basis at the moment.
