Focused support through strong partnerships

Early Break’s Special Projects focus on meeting the complex, real-world needs of young people who are at risk of homelessness or in unsafe living situations.

Delivered in partnership with regional agencies and national programmes, these services combine practical support with emotional wellbeing and advocacy, helping young people stabilise their lives and work towards brighter futures.

Currently, our two key Special Projects are Housing First and Pathfinder, delivered across select areas of Greater Manchester.

Early Break is a proud partner of the Greater Manchester Housing First programme, delivering wraparound support to young people aged 18–25 who face multiple disadvantages, including housing insecurity, trauma, and substance use.

We work on the principle that housing is a human right, so our role begins by helping young people access safe, permanent accommodation and continues with the support they need to maintain it and thrive.

This can include:

  • Mental health support

  • Access to benefits and budgeting help

  • Emotional wellbeing sessions

  • Liaison with housing providers or the council

  • Opportunities to build life skills, relationships, and resilience

  • Attending appointments and engaging with services

  • Accessing training or community activities
